Syncing Recurring Meetings from Microsoft 365
How to sync recurring meetings for your account and how recurring meetings work
In Microsoft 365 you can have two types of calendar events:
One off calendar events
Recurring events that involve multiple instances over a period time based on a schedule
By default, BeeCastle only syncs and records one-off calendar events when users in your tenant integrate their Microsoft 365 accounts. The reason for this is that many organisations do not want to record recurring meetings in BeeCastle as they sometimes involve meetings like recurring daily stand-ups, which are not as relevant to relationship building.
Do you want to sync recurring calendar events in BeeCastle?
No problem! Your account's admin can easily turn recurring calendar event sync on in your Settings menu here.
When you toggle this setting on and save preferences you are:
Initiating a one-off sync for all users in your account who have Microsoft 365 integrated to record any recurring meetings with contacts in the last 6 months or planned in the next 6 months
Turning ongoing sync of recurring meetings on for all users in the account
Note: This setting is account-wide so applies to all users.
What happens when a user changes or deletes a recurring calendar event in Microsoft 365?
What happens to your recurring meetings in BeeCastle when you make a change to that meeting depends on whether it is in the past or in the future:
When the calendar event is planned |
What happens when you change or delete the calendar event |
If the calendar event is in the past... |
Changing or deleting the instance does not change the record in BeeCastle as they system assumes it has occurred. |
If the calendar is in the future... |
Changing the instance (date/time/title etc.) of the meeting changes the upcoming meeting in BeeCastle. Deleting the instance of the calendar event deletes the upcoming meeting in BeeCastle. |
